# Oslos Coffee House Gems

Visit the most unique and charming coffee houses in Oslo.

7 stops from Raade's Hagekafé to Kruttverket, starting 12:00, about 93 minutes of travel between stops.

## The stops in order

1. **12:00 Raade's Hagekafé** (Coffeehouse): Tucked away on a quiet side street in Sagene, you’ll find this hidden garden café. It’s located in an old house from 1855 that has been home to seven generations over the years. The authentic atmosphere and historic charm add something truly special to the place. Every Sunday they open the doors to the backyard and serve homemade sveler fresh off the griddle. Inside the café there are just a few cozy seats, but out in the garden you’ll find sun loungers, benches and seating areas where you can soak up the sun surrounded by lush greenery. Fresh sveler and a relaxed vibe are guaranteed here. Then walking about 6 min to the next stop.
2. **12:30 Hønse-Lovisas hus** (Coffeehouse): On a walk along the Akerselva river, it’s hard not to be charmed by Hønse-Lovisas hus. In Sagene, right where Biermannsgate meets Thorvald Meyers gate, sits a small red house filled with history. A visit here pretty much calls for a waffle. Outside you’ll find a sweet and one of a kind seating area right by the waterfall, making this spot especially idyllic during the summer months. Along with a bit of food, they also offer a selection of cakes and sweet treats to go with your coffee. Then walking about 14 min to the next stop.
3. **13:15 Tim Wendelboe** (Coffeehouse): A busy and popular café in Grünerløkka, known for its award winning coffee and sustainable approach. This small corner café has a few benches outside facing the Akerselva river and a handful of seats indoors. They serve high quality light roasted coffee, with beans carefully sourced from origin countries by Tim Wendelboe himself. Then walking about 21 min to the next stop.
4. **14:00 Fuglen Sentrum** (Coffeehouse): There’s a lot to suggest that this is one of Oslo’s most charming cafés. With original interior details from the coffee and tea shop that first opened here back in 1963, it’s no surprise the place has such a unique atmosphere. They serve high quality coffee and even have their own roastery located in Gamlebyen. Then transit about 25 min to the next stop.
5. **15:00 Kampen Kaffe & Bar** (Coffeehouse): This neighborhood café is a must if you find yourself near Kampen. It’s clearly a local favorite because when we dropped by around noon, it was packed. So we happily settled outside on the sunny square with blankets and cushions. Perfect for a cozy Sunday date. They offer a selection of baked goods, sandwiches, soup, snacks, cakes, cold drinks and natural wine. Kampen is also a charming area to explore, so if the café is full, we recommend grabbing your coffee to go and enjoying it on a stroll through one of Oslo’s most delightful neighborhoods. Then walking about 1 min to the next stop.
6. **15:30 Farine** (Bakery): This bakery and café in Kampen still ranks high on our list of cozy spots in the city. The bright yellow building is hard to miss and lights up the whole street. You’ll find more than just baked goods here – the menu also includes pizza, salads, sandwiches and other small warm dishes. This neighborhood bakery offers everything from freshly baked sourdough loaves to french toast. We can confirm that the oat milk latte and the cardamom swirl were a definite hit. Then walking about 26 min to the next stop.
7. **Kruttverket** (Coffeehouse): In the Gamle Oslo district, you’ll find this cultural hub offering a lovely mix of café by day and bar by night. You can soak up the relaxed atmosphere right by the Alna river. Choose from a wide selection of coffee, fresh baked goods, grilled cheese, snacks, cold drinks, beer, wine and cocktails. Its location right next to Svartdalsparken makes it easy to combine your visit with a nice walk in the area. There’s a year round sauna here and in the summer the outdoor seating is unlike anywhere else in Oslo.
