Craic and Pints: Finding Your Irish Pub in Oslo

Finding a great Irish bar in Oslo means finding a good pint of Guinness. With friendly faces and a real taste of Ireland. Luckily, several Irish pubs dot the city, and each has its own unique feel. These places are perfect for enjoying some Irish hospitality!
Each pub brings its own character to Oslo's Irish pub scene:
- The Dubliner: Classic Irish pub experience with live music
- O'Connor's Irish Pub: Charming neighborhood pub in Grünerløkka
- The Old Irish Pub: Traditional style meets modern party vibe
- The Wild Rover: Sports-focused pub with live music
- Mulligans Irish Pub: Classic pub with lively atmosphere
The Dubliner
Our favorite! Old and a little worn – just like an Irish pub should be. The Dubliner is the classic Oslo Irish pub experience in an established pub, built in 1994. But this is an institution that has survived for decades because it's authentic. They pour plenty of beer, including Guinness, and offer Irish whiskies.
It gets busy, especially on weekends. Live music is a big draw here. Expect traditional Irish folk sessions on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The Dubliner serves classic pub food like fish and chips, shepherd's pie, and Irish stew. You'll find The Dubliner near Oslo City Hall, at Rådhusgata 28.
O'Connor's Irish Pub
O'Connor's in busy Grünerløkka is a proper neighborhood Irish bar with charm. A relatively new addition, but they've really gotten it quite right! The decor is traditional: dark wood, booths, and tiled floors. You'll of course get Irish ales, whiskies, and cocktails here.
Free live music often happens on Fridays and Saturdays. You can also play billiards and they show sports on big screens. Irish pub food is available, like sandwiches, pies, pizza, and soup. O'Connor's sits in the Grünerløkka area, at Korsgata 31A.
The Old Irish Pub
Want a party? The Old Irish Pub mixes traditional Irish style with a modern party vibe. Later at night, it can feel more like a nightclub with DJs and dancing.
Live music is frequent, sometimes featuring bands from Ireland or cover artists playing hits from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. They also show sports and is located near Nationaltheateret (Klingenberggata 5) and at Majorstuen (Kirkeveien 64A).
The Wild Rover
The Wild Rover is central and easy to find. It's a large pub spread over two floors and has many screens (over 40) for watching sports. Making it a popular spot for football fans.
Live music is a staple, with troubadours playing most nights of the week, often followed by DJs on weekends. They serve food, including Irish dishes and steaks, and drinks. It is located right on Oslo's main street, Karl Johans gate 8.
Mulligans Irish Pub
Mulligans Irish Pub aims for a classic, lively Irish bar atmosphere, welcoming a diverse crowd. Every day of the week they offer live music on their small stage. They also show sports on big screens. You can find Mulligans at Kristian IV's gate 4, near Stortinget.
