Evviva
This is the coziest café in the Carl Berner area! Stepping inside feels a bit like stumbling upon a small Italian neighborhood café, overflowing with delicacies like focaccia, panini, fresh pastries, and a tempting selection of freshly sliced cheeses and cured meats. We’ve enjoyed many cappuccinos here on their charming outdoor seats. In the evenings it’s all about wine and aperitivo, and every now and then you might catch an intimate concert in the corner. Simply a lovely little neighborhood café and wine bar. The kind Oslo doesn’t have many of left!

Farine
This bakery and café in Kampen still ranks high on our list of cozy spots in the city. The bright yellow building is hard to miss and lights up the whole street. You’ll find more than just baked goods here – the menu also includes pizza, salads, sandwiches and other small warm dishes. This neighborhood bakery offers everything from freshly baked sourdough loaves to french toast. We can confirm that the oat milk latte and the cardamom swirl were a definite hit.

Håndbakt
A hip, organic and vegan sourdough bakery in Tøyen and at Lindern. In addition to a wide selection of coffee and fresh baked goods, they also serve brunch. We recommend trying the school bun here. It’s both fluffy and moist, topped with a generous layer of sweet icing! Pro tip, grab a coffee and a bun to go and enjoy a stroll through the nearby botanical garden. PS! Their bakery at Lindern is super charming.

Hønse-Lovisas hus
On a walk along the Akerselva river, it’s hard not to be charmed by Hønse-Lovisas hus. In Sagene, right where Biermannsgate meets Thorvald Meyers gate, sits a small red house filled with history. A visit here pretty much calls for a waffle. Outside you’ll find a sweet and one of a kind seating area right by the waterfall, making this spot especially idyllic during the summer months. Along with a bit of food, they also offer a selection of cakes and sweet treats to go with your coffee.

In the Gamle Oslo district, you’ll find this cultural hub offering a lovely mix of café by day and bar by night. You can soak up the relaxed atmosphere right by the Alna river. Choose from a wide selection of coffee, fresh baked goods, grilled cheese, snacks, cold drinks, beer, wine and cocktails. Its location right next to Svartdalsparken makes it easy to combine your visit with a nice walk in the area. There’s a year round sauna here and in the summer the outdoor seating is unlike anywhere else in Oslo.
