Girotondo
This spot near Youngstorget serves up some seriously good stone oven pizza, best enjoyed with a glass of wine. The space is filled with the warm, spicy scent of freshly baked pizza. Seating is arranged around four long tables, which might feel a bit unusual but adds to the casual, laidback atmosphere. The menu also includes a selection of antipasti with Italian cheeses, cured meats and desserts.

Kork
A new favourite in town! In Markveien on Løkka, a brand-new pizza restaurant with a focus on both pizza and bistro dining has opened its doors. The owner has previously worked the pizza ovens at Lofthus, which basically guarantees they know their craft. You can choose from 12 different pizzas, all with a deliciously crispy thin crust. 'Ovnstekt Sopp', topped with oyster and chestnut mushrooms on a white sauce, is a must-try if you are into mushrooms. The meatier options like 'Salami (Sterk)', 'Salciccia', and 'Trøffelsalami' are also incredibly good. You will also find more adventurous creations such as 'Brennesle & Pistachios', and 'Tuna & Nduja'. The interior has a clear bistro feel, with the pizza oven shining warmly in the corner behind the bar. It is not a large space, but there is seating both indoors and outside.

Mad Love
New York-style pizza in Grønland! A perfect slice stop with large, foldable slices, generous toppings, and an unpretentious vibe that feels just right for this street. The menu is short and playful, where classics meet an Oslo twist. We recommend 'Lucifer', topped with salami piccante, ’nduja, roasted peppers, ricotta, and mozzarella. 'Mad Ost' is also a great choice, rich and salty with caramelised walnuts. If neither of those tempt you, go for 'Skippern', with salsiccia, spinach, gorgonzola and mozzarella. The place itself is small, and takeaway is the main game here, but there are a few tables that seat four to five people. It is laid-back and nothing fancier than what you would expect from a proper local pizza joint.

Rosenhoff Kiosk
In Rosenhoffgata, just a stone’s throw from Carl Berners plass, you’ll find this tiny pizza favorite in a small kiosk. They serve fresh, Naples-style pizza with a light and airy crust at a very reasonable price. A “pizza of the week” makes regular appearances, and the menu stays short and sweet. Run by three friends, it feels just as relaxed as the name suggests. Pick it up, or enjoy it on the bench outside in the evening sun.

Skovveien Bar & Pizza
This bar and pizza restaurant is easily one of the most popular spots in Frogner and definitely worth the visit. The first thing you’ll see when you walk in is the open bar, and both the pizza and the atmosphere here are top notch. They don’t hold back on quality ingredients or creativity, so you’ll find plenty of exciting flavor combos on the menu. Our favorite is the one with seasonal tomatoes, packed with rich flavor and topped with a creamy burrata in the center. The space is divided into several cozy rooms and there’s outdoor seating for sunny days.

Tranen
By Alexander Kiellands plass you will find this city icon dating back to 1921. In the evenings they serve thin, generous, and truly delicious pizzas, when Lofthus Samvirkelag takes over the kitchen. The 'Trøffelsalami' has long been a favourite, and their 'Reinsdyr' is both unique and exceptionally good. The interior has a distinct bistro feel, with dark wood and small tables. You can feel the history in the walls, from its days as a people’s restaurant and old-school pub to today’s warm neighbourhood gathering spot. Easily in the top ten of the city’s best pizza places, with a wine list that is surprisingly ambitious for a local hangout.

Trattoria Crudo
Right in the heart of Nydalen you’ll find a cosy Italian trattoria serving excellent pizza. Their head chef is from south of Naples and is an award-winning pizzaiolo with several podium finishes at the Pizza World Championships, most recently taking third place in 2022 for his Margherita. Here the pizzas come straight from the stone oven with a perfectly airy crust and just the right thickness. We’ve enjoyed everything from the classic 'Margherita' and the slightly spicier 'Diavola', to the indulgent 'Quattro Formaggi' and the burrata-topped 'Burratina'. The interior features natural materials, earthy tones and a touch of Nordic minimalism. Italian photos and motifs adorn the walls, and upstairs you’ll even find a Vespa on display. Tip: The pistachio gelato here is a must-try!

Vesuvio
[You can get a discount here with Oslo Explore] There’s no doubt this is one of the best Italian spots in the city, and a well crafted pizza straight from the stone oven or a plate of delicious pasta never disappoints. The owner, Francesco Solimeo, has won the Norwegian championship for best gourmet pizza, but the Italian chef clearly knows his way around more than just pizza. Try the tasting menu for a generous and truly lovely Italian dining experience. The space is filled with warm tones and Italian decor. When the weather warms up, you can enjoy outdoor seating both out front and in the backyard. It might just be the shortest and most affordable trip to an Italian street corner and sun soaked wall you’ll have this summer.

Zio Pizza
Not far from Majorstuen, in Marienlyst, you’ll find this pizza gem! Topped with Fiordilatte mozzarella, prosciutto, mortadella, flavours like chèvre and caramelised onion, and of course a delicious thin crust, this is among the very best in Oslo. The 'Mortadella' is packed with ham and plenty of creamy mozzarella. If you like a spicier option, the 'ZiOPizza Special' with chorizo and ’nduja is an absolute must! The space is small, but the cosy indoor seating with a view straight into the kitchen adds to the charm. A truly excellent pizza experience and one of our top picks!

ZZ Pizza
A true gem in Gamlebyen for anyone craving seriously good pizza with a sourdough base and perfectly crispy crust. Their 'Løksuppepizza' (French onion soup) as a pizza has become a hit and for good reason. It is right up there, possibly the best in town, with oxtail broth, 36-month gouda, smoked raclette, and thyme. You will of course also find classics like 'Pepperoni', 'Chili Cheese', and 'Mortadella', as well as more creative options such as 'Coppa & Burrata', 'Guanciale & Pecorino', and 'Oxtail & Gochujang'. In other words, plenty of goodness to choose from. The space is raw and urban, with high ceilings, wooden benches, and an industrial vibe.
